A plain-English explanation of the information we collect and why.
Property searches
When you search an address or PIN, we look it up in public Cook County records. We keep a temporary copy of county results for up to 24 hours to keep the site fast. Searches are not linked to your name. A tax bill amount you enter on the results page stays in your browser.
Free guides and email updates
When you request a free checklist, we store the name, email, and property address you provide so we can deliver the resource and understand which homeowners need help. Joining tax-update emails is a separate, optional choice. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.
Orders and payment
When you buy a kit, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your name, email, the property you bought the kit for, and the order amount. We never see or store your full card number. We use your email to send your kit link and to answer questions about your order.
Refund requests
If you request a refund, we store your email, order number, message, and the decision letter you upload, in private storage only our staff can open. We use them only to review your request.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that run the site, take payments, and send email, and when the law requires it.
External sites
Links to the Cook County Assessor and Board of Review lead to websites we do not operate. Their privacy practices apply there.
